My personal interests

When I am not coding my next project, I enjoy spending my time doing any of the following:

  • I love learning Korean;
  • I am watching my favorite eSports games;
  • I am brainstorming at conferences around the world;
  • And I am meeting more people and creating new opportunities.

Technical Skills

I've worked with a wide variety of programming languages. For web applications I use PHP and Javascript. Whenever I need the most performance possible I obviously go with C++ and finally when I am building prototypes or working on my hobby projects I fall back on Python

Work Experience

DevOps Software Engineer

Big data Data analysis Backend development
I've held three different positions in this company. From part-time employee to full time intern and now finally as a full time employee in the data division. I am responsible for the extraction of high quality data from the web. I develop software that extracts information from the unstructured deep web and that converts it into a structured format for further data analysis.

Freelance Web Developer

When I turned 18 I finally launched my own sole proprietorship, Kaiwa-Projects. This has allowed me to do a wide variety of freelance jobs. Most of the freelance jobs were custom solutions such as customer management systems, online hotel or guesthouse booking systems or lead generation applications.

Intern Programmer

Logistics C# development Process optimization
At Bauhuis I did my graduation internship. During my time there, I developed multiple applications ranging from a logistics application to a set of applications for process optimization. The logistics application was a web interface to better plan in and outgoing deliveries and the process optimization applications automated the manual labor of collecting and printing spare part lists of complete industrial plant drawings, it decreased 2 days of work into a single mouse click.

NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences

Bachelor of Computer Science Game Development
I studied International Game Architecture and Design at the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. Here I have gained strong knowledge a wide variety of subjects including data structures, networking, audio and graphics programming.

Graduating in: Early 2016

ROC Twente

Computer Science Application Development
I completed two courses at ROC Twente. The first course was a computer science course after which I did an additional year in application development. This combination gave me a good understanding of both hardware and software. The application development course was originally a two year track but I graduated a year early.
